our Urban Farming story
Our first years were small and scrappy. We began as a bootstrap organization doing residential gardens and herb gardens for small restaurants. And then it took off when we realized the power and joy of bringing farming right into the city. Flash forward 15 years and we have 200+ garden sites all over the greater Boston area. Indoor, outdoors, and even at the rooftop at Fenway Park. In partnership with Tanimura & Antle (T&A), one of the premier vegetable producers in the world, lifelong farmer, CEO Christopher Grallert, became President and co-owner in 2020. With hard work, a great team, and a leader with a combination of horticultural knowledge and entrepreneurial energy, Green City Growers is positioned to be a catalyst for food system transformation.
