Green City Growers Is Coming To The Boston Children’s Museum

November 17th, 2021

In large thanks to the generosity of the Red Sox Foundation, Fenway Farms at Boston Children’s Museum will be opening public programs this Spring 2022. The new 1,100 square-foot rooftop space was prepared and installed by Apex Green Roofs and Green City Growers.

Green City Growers will share their garden education programs with kids, families and community members that visit the new rooftop exhibit. Visitors will be invited to participate in various garden activities, explore using their senses and play in the soil. Fenway Farms at Boston Children’s Museum will help educate the importance of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and healthy eating.  The food grown will be donated to the Boston non-profit Lovin’ Spoonfuls that helps distribute food to those facing food insecurity. Some of the produce will be used on-site to feed Boston Children’s Museum’s turtles.

Green City Growers is excited to have this opportunity to inspire young Bostonians for a healthier, stronger, and more sustainable future ahead.
