OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Dear Green City Growers Customers and Followers,

As our community grapples with the impact and spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to share with you our approach as an organization to ensure the safety of our employees and those we serve.

With access to fresh produce a critical issue and agriculture and food businesses deemed an essential business sector, we are continuing to provide vegetable garden maintenance services along with maintaining our commercial urban farms.

At Green City Growers, we take safety very seriously. We have had workplace safety and food safety policies in place for a number of years. These policies and practices include standard operating procedures around disinfection and sanitation. Our food safety program includes regular training for all employees, as well as additional certifications for all of our urban farmers and horticultural staff.

We are taking every precaution to protect our employees. With the arrival of COVID-19, we have augmented our safety programs to include review/re-training, updates at regular staff meetings, informational emails, and multiple office postings regarding safety and sanitation. Our office will also be disinfected multiple times daily and professionally cleaned every week. In addition, we are regularly monitoring the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website on Preventing COVID-19 Spread in Communities and providing this information to all of our team.
