Our Team Goals for 2019

None of us are real believers in resolutions, but many of us have goals for the coming year both professionally and personally. Here’s a list of some of our goals:

GCG Team: This year we are all looking forward to growing and learning in our recently redesigned Research and Development Garden at GCG Headquarters. The new design maximizes our growing potential with ample space to grow fresh food and train our team. We can’t wait to get our hands dirty… literally.

Jessie, CEO and Founder: I want to make sure to get out of the office more and into our R&D garden. We preach the value of work day gardening, I should practice what we preach! Personally, I hope to gain more patience for myself and my goals- like gardening or farming, willing the plants to grow faster won’t get you anywhere, unfortunately.

Rie, Landscape Designer: Every moment is a new moment to be aware of what’s happening around me and inside of me. As the seasons change from fall to winter to spring to summer to fall again I watch the New England landscape change around me — each plant coming into its new moment, with every moment. All the while, I watch the seasons of my inner landscape change too, with this season and all the seasons of next year.

Lee, Horticultural Manager: My farming goal is to cook something with currants. My personal goal? I want to improve on my New England tree ID skills.

Chris, Director of Management: For farming goals I’d like to continue my education in mechanical cultivation. For myself in 2019, I’m hoping to stop eating candy and cookies. Wish me luck!

Abby, Marketing Manager: This year I’m focused on building and nurturing community partnerships, both professionally and personally. I also want to make an abstract painting and do one. real. pushup.

Happy 2019, friends. We’re excited to grow with you!
