Installation Manager

Green City Growers, or GCG, is growing and is looking to hire a manager for its operations team. This is a full-time year-round position. This is a perfect position for someone who is hard-working and enjoys physical labor and wants to be involved in the planning and strategic part of our growth. Project Management: Coordinate, facilitate and participate in the fabrication and installation of all Green City Growers projects. Manage Operations (OPS) crew, set schedule and priorities based on installations schedule, work orders/repairs and various facilities requirements (e.g., installs/build queue calendar, soil and cold frame schedules, CRM, and cloud archiving). Generate, update, and manage related departmental documents & SOP’s. Collaborate across all departments to ensure OPS is efficiently and effectively supporting business with a high standard. Ensure OPS is trained and compliant in food safety systems. Manage other projects and assignments as needed. Provide written updates to Director of Operations.

Financial & Procurement: Work with Director of Operations to develop, maintain, track and support budgeting, and costing/pricing processes. Maintain necessary inventories for all supplies, tools, products, and materials related to OPS. Deliver monthly inventory and procurement requirements. Research new products, support product development, design, and prototyping. Keep detailed written and financial records of purchasing, costing, and sourcing of materials. Vet and develop relationships with all GCG vendors, review annually minimum.

Facilities & Shop: Ensure cleanliness and working order of workshop, office, kitchen, greenhouse, grow room and all facilities. Schedule and execute all in-house repairs, cleaning, pest control and facilities improvements. Vet, price, budget, contract & manage outside contractors. Implement and maintain organizational systems for materials and tool storage and builds preparations.

Fleet & Equipment: Schedule, conduct & document regular vehicle inspections, cleaning, washing, repairs & maintenance (R&M) of all GCG vehicles, tools, and equipment. Ensure vehicles are properly inspected for problems, damage and required maintenance. Keep written documentation for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections in GCG Vehicle Maintenance Log.

Training: Conduct and assist in training all crew members in product builds, repairs, and maintenance. Conduct and assist in GCG-affiliated programming and trainings. Supervise crews during shop production. Supervise crew on-site as necessary. Work across departments to support and facilitate Horticulture and Administration needs. Conduct weekly “tailgate” safety training and maintain written documentation of training participation.

Meetings: Meet with Sales department, facilitate Sale and Installs meeting, take & distribute notes. Attend, participate in, and facilitate other meetings, training, events, programs as needed.


• Flexibility ability to work across departments and areas of responsibility. Willingness to take on task outside of normal work scope. Thrive on change and action
• Project management experience. Detail-oriented, Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Familiarity and experience with Google and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge (or ability/desire to learn about) of equipment operation/maintenance, landscaping, carpentry, metalwork
• Driver’s license (required). Hoisting License (Preferred, GCG will support the process)
• Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends). Ability to work in noisy, dirty environments
• Ability to regularly move heavy objects (>50 lbs)
